Large Scale Project Examples

My experiences with large scale projects (over 1,000 acres) were all while working in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The two projects I’ve put on this website are both over 4,000 acres.  The largest site I worked on (not on website) was over 25,000 acres in Lake and Napa Counties, California.

Examples:

Grand Vista

Grand Vista was a project I worked on at Greey Pickett Planning and Landscape Design in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The project was expected to be annexed into Surprise, Arizona and planned for up to 15,000 housing units.  It is the largest project undertaken by Toll Brothers to date.  While working at Greey Pickett I was involved in the project doing area calculations, golf course routing, and numerous alterations.  The project included a downtown district, 3 single family neighborhood villages, a private active adult community with public golf course and a private golf course community.

Festival

Festival is a large, 7,700 acre site is Surprise, Arizona that I worked on while at Greey Pickett Planning and Landscape Design.  The site is long and narrow, bordered by the Agua Fria River along the the west property line.  Along the north portion of the site, the planned Loop 303 will bisect the property making it a prime location for future development.  The site had gone through numerous site plans by multiple firms.  This plan was the third full master plan and the second plan that went through full site lotting.  This plan was to include two Jack Nicholaus designed golf courses.  These plans are for the southern portion of the site.  Another section equally long but more narrow was to be planned in the future for the northern portion of the site.
